Tibidabo, Barcelona’s city mountain and one of the oldest funfairs has thrived for decades, entertaining generations of locals and travelers over the years. Tibidabo’s amusement park is the best place in the city to enjoy spectacular aerial views of Barcelona. Standing at 551-metres, the park is the highest point in all of Barcelona, with great views over the city, port and Mediterranean Sea beyond. On clear days you may even be able to see as far as Mallorca and Ibiza!
Feel the magic of the park’s century-old history. Enjoy its classic and new rides and attractions while you look at the city below. Get your camera ready and experience an unforgettable day out! Tibidabo’s amusement park is the oldest in Spain, the second oldest in Europe and one of the first-ever parks to be built in the world. Since it opened in 1901, its rides and attractions have been constantly updating, while it’s amenities, including cafés, panoramic restaurants, play areas and lively entertainment areas have all been kept up to date.
If you do choose to continue to the top, both kids and adults will enjoy the charming theme park. The only surviving amusement park in Barcelona with over 100 years of history, has over 25 nerve-wracking and exciting rides that shows the city from unexplored and amazing sights. There are attractions for all ages: the Plane; the new roller coaster; the Plaça dels Somnis, or Plaza of Dreams; the gold mine; the Sky Walk; the Miramirall shall of mirrors; and, of course, the Giradabo, the large ferris wheel, its 20-metre diameter and 500m above the city makes it, which is already part of the new Barcelona skyline.
The park also offers a wide range of facilities for visitors including a selection of restaurants and picnic areas, many of which boast amazing views over the city spread out below. There are several accommodation options and hotels near the Tibidabo Mountain, in Barcelona’s less crowded region.

The amusement park was great, even though some of the attractions were closed because it was incredibly windy on the day we went (wear plenty of layers if you go outside of the summer!). The description of the item was a little vague - did the ticket price include the funicular ride if you wanted to go on it or was it just stating that a funicular ride was there if you wanted to pay to use it as an optional extra? We didn't know and neither did the staff at the entrance. There was a lot of discussion between three staff members who couldn't decide how to interpret it for some time before they seemingly gave up and erred on the side of caution, giving us return tickets for the funicular train as well as our theme park bands. We still don't know if this was correct or not!
