Overview

Discover Jerónimos Monastery, a monument of national significance and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. Save time with skip-the-line entry and learn more about its Portuguese identity and culture. Don't forget to look up at the psychedelic ceilings!

Step into the 16th-century cloister, enjoy a glimpse of the former monks’ refectory, and imagine what it was like to browse a book by candlelight in the former library.

Admire the columns of the cloister, each differently carved with coils of rope, sea monsters, coral, and other sea motifs, reminiscent of the bygone era of world exploration at sea.

Discover the spacious interiors with octagonal piers elaborately decorated with reliefs, and soak in the serenity of the garden laid out in 1940, with hedges shaped like the various municipal coats of arms of Portugal. In the center is a large fountain also decorated with coats of arms, often illuminated on special occasions.

See Thai pavillion, which was built in Bangkok and shipped to Portugal in 2011 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Portuguese arrival in Thailand.

Admire picturesque views of the Tagus River from the grounds and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of Lisbon.
