Overview

Surrender yourself to the ‘surreal’ magic of modern art at the spectacular Museo Reina Sofia, the hotbed of contemporary Spanish, with this Skip-The-Line ticket. Home to an exceptional collection of 20th century Spanish house from Picasso to Solana, the gallery is housed in a former 18th-century hospital which was remodeled in 1992.

Although Reina Sofia holds what is probably Madrid’s premier collection of contemporary art, the centerpiece is undoubtedly Picasso’s Guernica (you can find it in Room 206), arguably Spain’s single-most famous artwork. It also holds works by the other 20th century titans of Spanish art, Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró,with collection spanning up to 1980. There are a few pieces from non-Spaniard artists as well, such as Francis Bacon’s Lying Figure.

Besides paintings, the museum also houses an exceptional collection of sculptures, including some distinctive works by Miró, and a bust of Picasso by Pablo Gargallo.
