Overview

Come and explore the wonderful city of Prague with this three hour guided walking tour. Discover the history behind the beautiful buildings and the lives of the people who lived and worked there.

The tour takes you leisurely through the picturesque cobbled streets of the Old Town or Stare Mesto as it is known locally, picking out the most important monuments. This medieval district dates back to the 11th century when the area around the castle started to expand towards the river. It is now Prague’s main touristic area offering a fantastic selection of historic buildings, traditional restaurants and interesting shops. The tour takes you along the Kings Road to the Old Town Square viewed by many as one of the prettiest in Europe. Here you will be able to admire the superb gothic Church of Our Lady before Tyn with its iconic spires and gaze in wonder at the famous astronomical clock on the Town Hall.

You will also have the opportunity to see the Charles IV Bridge, possibly one of the most romantic spots in the city where you can get some wonderful photos of the old town. This magnificent 14th century structure is normally buzzing with the sound of musicians, artists and performers so enjoy the atmosphere as you stroll across.

The tour continues with a visit to the slightly more subdued Jewish Quarter. This district dates back to the 10th century although much of what you see today is modern as between 1893 and 1913 most of the area was demolished. Only six synagogues, the cemetery and the old Jewish Town hall were preserved and were curiously designated to become a museum of an extinct race by the Nazis.
