Lucerne & Mount Titlis - Tour from Zurich

 Travel to the charming city of Lucerne and visit Mt Titlis in the famous Swiss Alps! After a scenic coach ride to Lucerne, a guide points out the most eminent landmarks before leaving you to explore.

Ride on the new 8-seater Gondola, the ‘TITLIS Xpress’ from the Engelberg to the Stand station; covering the distance in just 16 minutes! Then board a cable car to 3020-metre-tall Mt Titlis. The gondola revolving cable car ROTAIR revolves 360 degrees, treating you to idyllic panoramic views of steep rock faces, deep crevasses and distant snow-covered mountain peaks.

Mt Titlis is the land of eternal snow, with attractions and activities such as Europe's highest suspension bridge and snow tubing. At Mt Titlis you can have winter fun even in the summer!

You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach from the Sihlquai bus parking near Zurich Main Train Station. Accompanied by a multi-lingual guide speaking English and Spanish, you will journey via Albis Pass and along the shores of Lake Lucerne to the city of Lucerne. It is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne and an important tourist destination due to its location on the shore of Lake Lucerne within sight of Mount Pilatus and Rigi.

You will be taken on a short city tour and shown the main sites, including a visit either to Lion Monument or photo stop at Lake Lucerne. The famous carving of a dying lion by Bertel Thorvaldsen, a renowned Danish/Icelandic sculptor, commemorates the hundreds of Swiss guards who were massacred during the French Revolution in 1792. After visiting the Lion Monument, you will have about an hour at leisure to explore the place on your own.

Further on, proceed to Engelberg, a famous ski resort (3028 metres). Now travel time from the Engelberg to Stand station will be cut in half due to a new introduced ‘TITLIS Xpress’; the 8-seater gondola. You will have to change only once at the station 'Stand' to reach Mt. Titlis. The new Gondolas are equipped with generous panoramic windows and a modern levelled easy walk-in entry coupled with a cabin height of 2.1 meters will ensure a smooth and comfortable entry and exit. Waiting time at the Valley Station will be significantly reduced; journey from Engelberg to the station Stand takes just 16 minutes and thus more time can be spent on Mt. Titlis.

Mount Titlis is a glacier paradise at a height of 4000 metres and offers an amazing snow and ice experience on the highest viewpoint in Central Switzerland. After reaching the top, you can enjoy a variety of attractions and the magnificent scenery of the Alps. There are restaurants, a sun terrace, Ice Grotto and much more. You can also board the Ice Flyer chairlift and enjoy sliding over the snow or use the Fun Lift for sledging.

After a great time in the snow, you will return to Zurich. The tour ends at the Sihlquai bus parking (which is near Zurich main train station).
